There was a special screening in Winnipeg of Burning Ember: The Steve Bell Journey just for “Friends and Fans” a few weeks ago at the Empire Theatre at Grant Park Shopping Centre. It was an over-sold, standing ovation kind of night. Even Director Andrew Wall had to stand.
Watching the film on the big screen with comfy seats and theatre speakers was truly a highlight of the journey that Refuge has been on the last year and a half. The unbelievable response, aside from the raucous and cheering crowd that night, has been truly a vindication that we’ve been on the right track.
In the last few weeks, as screeners have made their way into the hands of many, endorsements have been coming in from film, television and music authorities. Endorsements that have festivals and broadcasters raising their eyebrows and taking a look at this little film from Winnipeg.
In the weeks and months ahead we hope that we can share more news and success to come with Burning Ember. So stay tuned as we engage the world and launch this film.
