Burning Ember: The Steve Bell Journey screened this past weekend (twice in fact) at the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival. The festivals motto is: Cool – Clean – Compelling. The multi day event was packed with filmgoers and was attended by Director Andrew Wall.
There were numerous other features screened, including Holy Ghost, Poverty Inc and Transcend. Just to be screened amongst these films was enough of an honour, but to take home the trophy in our hometown was special.
“I’ve been to film festivals around the world and Real to Reel stands out. It has a clear purpose to supporting global films that are worth watching.” – Andrew Wall
Next festival stop for Burning Ember is Oklahoma at the 16th Annual Bare Bones International Independent Film, Arts & Music Festival. There’s also rumour of an Edmonton date coming up along with some distributor news… but we’re staying mum on the details. So stay tuned as there’s more to come in February and March!
