We said things were going to start to get exciting come February and March…
Over the weekend Refuge 31 was notified that Burning Ember: The Steve Bell Journey has received an Accolade – Award of Excellence at the Accolade Global Film Competition!
The film has been recognized by the competition in the Documentary Feature and Religion/Ethics categories as well as for Direction and Editing in the craft categories. This is wonderful recognition for the director and editor, Andrew Wall. He also was the writer for the documentary.
Andrew previously won an Accolade Award of Excellence in 2011 for The Paper Nazis. A one hour documentary on Winnipeg during the 1930’s that is currently airing in Canada and Australia.
The Accolade is a beautiful trophy. Made by the same people that make the Oscars, in fact.
Stay tuned throughout March and April as more announcements are made at Refuge 31. We also have a few more projects in progress that we’ll be talking about.
