Suspended and the Art of Forgiveness, a feature documentary that follows Winnipeg artist Cliff Derksen, recently won Best Documentary Feature at the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival. The film screened three times and had Cliff and his daughter Odia Reimer participate in the Q&A after the Saturday night screening. Many of the audience   admitted that they were hesitant to come because they personally had been deeply affected by the murder of Candace Derksen (Cliff’s daughter) in 1984 but were grateful to have finally seen the film.

Suspended also recently won Best Documentary Feature (Jury selection) at the Eu Claire World Film Festival in Wisconsin, Best Foreign Documentary at the Great Lakes Christian Film Festival in Buffalo and an Award of Exceptional Merit at the Docs Without Borders Film Festival. The film is currently available on Bell MTS Video on Demand, unfortunately only available in Manitoba.
