Refuge 31 is honoured to have two documentary films, Suspended and the Art of Forgiveness as well as Otto’s Passion, screening at the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival on February 19 -24. Refuge is no stranger to the multi-day festival and has not only won numerous awards with other documentaries like Burning Ember: The Steve Bell Journey and The Last Objectors over the years but also had one of its dramatic scripts win third place last year.

Suspended and the Art of Forgiveness, a feature documentary that follows artist Cliff Derksen, recently won Best Documentary Feature at the Eu Claire World Film Festival in Wisconsin, Best Foreign Documentary at the Great Lakes Christian Film Festival in Buffalo and an Award of Exceptional Merit at the Docs Without Borders Film Festival. The film is currently available on Bell MTS Video on Demand.

Otto’s Passion is an expanded TV hour version of the fifteen minute short documentary Otto’s Obsession which won Best Short Documentary at the Real to Reel Film Festival in February of 2018. The film is currently airing on CBC Manitoba.
